The low density of the microspheres allows it also to be easy to handle and pleasant to work with while adding a cost benefit by reducing the amount of binder needed. Depending on the binder system used Expancel Microspheres can constitute up to 95 volume % of the modelling clay. The closed spheres and resilience of Expancel will ensure that shrinkage is kept to an absolute minimum while the modelling clay is drying, and that it'll remain stable during storage.

On top of this, Expancel Microspheres also possess good adhesive qualities making modelling clay easy to paint on.
